Friday, April 24, 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the deportations in Western Turkey which resulted in the genocide of the Armenian people. Over the next nine months nearly 1.5 million men, women and children were either brutally murdered, starved to death or else forced to march across a parched desert to their almost certain extinction, by Turkish gendarmes and their accomplices at the behest of the Turkish government. This event, one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th Century, has been recalled in countless books , articles and documentaries and its veracity is without question. Yet to this day, the Turkish government refuses to recognize this massive human rights crime, let alone apologize for it and most world governments have stonewalled any attempt to build a universal recognition of the events of those months. This conference will seek to investigate the motivations behind the genocide, the extent of the massacres and the reasons the world has largely failed the memory of the innocent victims.
The massacre of the Charlie Hebdo staff in Paris on January 7th and the hostage crisis and tragic killing of four Jewish shoppers two days later, has sent shock waves around the world. Those who have been observing the social and demographic crises of Europe for some time were not surprised. It is the continuation of a long line of distrubrances which have rocked Europe over the past 20 years. The multicultural policies of Europe, wherein Muslim enclaves have been encouraged to develop their own culture which would be respected and encouraged by Europeans have proved to be spectacularly ill conceived. Today, hundreds, if not thousands of ' No Go Zones' exist all over Europe and the restiveness of local Muslim populations, to the point of explosion, presents the gravest threat to the survival of European civilization since the advent of Nazism. What do European leaders propose to do about this situation? Is it too late to do anything? Without guaranteed protection, should Jews leave France and other European countries? What will Europe look like in 20 years? These and other questions will be addressed by a range of European experts who are standing in the heart of the problems today.
Please join Avi Davis in his interview with former CBS Investigative journalist Sharyl Attkison, author of Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth, Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama's Washington when we talk about her efforts to give greater exposure to her reportage on the many scandals which have been pinned to the Obama Administration
For the past six years relations between the State of Israel and the United States have been stormy. Clashes over Israeli settlement policy, building in Jerusalem, the rise of a nuclear Iran and a moribund peace process are issues that have often set the Netantyahu government and Obama Administration ( both of whom entered office at approximately the same time) in direct confrontation with eachother. During this period monumental upheavals in the Arab world, resulting in the fall of some long term dictators and then in a spreading chaos have oddly not drawn the two long term democratic allies in closer rapport but has instead set the relationship on edge. What caused this sequence of events? What has been the role of individual leaders in this divison and is anything likely to change in the near future? These will be the central questions addressed in this important three hour conference.
The ISIS phenomenon has aroused the deepest concern in the West about the future of the Middle East. An organization labeling itself Jihadist, which will brook no opposition and will use beheadings and summary executions of entire populations as a means of enforcement, is not an entity to be ignored or trifled with. The West's general response can be described , until now, as tepid. This conference, drawing on the expertise and experience of journalists and commentators in five countries will seek to uncover the long term goals of ISIS, its threat to Israel and moderate Arab regimes in the region and how the United States and its allies should best confront it.
The 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War is upon us. When the Austro- Hungarian armies army crossed the Serbian border on August 10th, 1914, the peoples of Europe, who had enjoyed the longest consecutive period of peace in 1,000 years were entirely unaware that their lives and the civilization they had built would soon be consumed in a conflagration that would sweep away it away. Lost in time and obscured by the even more catastrophic events of the Second World War, the Great War nevertheless provided a watershed in world history as nations, monarchies, empires and long venerated institutions came tumbling down, leaving ruins which it would take nearly 75 years to rebuild. What were the causes of this catastrophe? What were the consequences for the West and how relevant are the lessons of that First World War to our contemporary world? . These and other issues will be addressed by this important AFA Conference of the Air featuring Sean McMeekin ( author of July 1914); Douglas Bardow ( Cato Institute); Diana West (author of Death of the Grown Up); David Pryce Jones ( author of The Closed Circle) and Richard Weikart ( author of Darwin to Hitler)
The 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War has occasioned much discussion about the nature of German militarism prior to the outbreak of hostilities in the sumer of 1914. Coupled with this is the question of the link of Wilhemine Germany to the rise of Nazism and the perpetration of the Holocaust. Join us for an hour long interview with Professor Richard Wiekart, author of the newly published From Darwin to Hitler: Evolutionary Ethics, Eugenics and Racism in Germany, when we will discuss these issues and in particular how Wilhemine Germany was involved in its own form of racist ideology which spurred hostilities in 1914.

Join Avi Davis when he interviews Neil j. Kesel, author of the The Sons of Pigs and Monkeys,: Muslim Antisemitism and the Conspiracy of Silence The rise of antisemitism in the Muslim world is compounded by the fact that many in the West refuse to recognize the issue. Apathy, ignorance, confusio, bigotry and misguided multiculturalism have all contributed to the growth of this plague. Author Kressle argues convincingly that Muslim antisemitism is the acid test of the sriousness of Western liberalism. If the West fails to stem this growing tide, as now seems likely, future affairs will not go well for the proponents of democracy.
Join AFA senior fellows Avi Davis and Larry Greenfield when they discuss with a range of experts the consequences of the federal election on the West and its meaning for the areas with which AFA is concerned - the future of Europe, academic freedom, the media, radical environmentalism and global governance.
