Deceit Through Necessity

In one sense the name says it all: anything that a Muslim is compelled by necessity to do (to engage in something “haram” or forbidden), even to the point of denying faith, is covered (and permitted) by this doctrine.

For example: If a muslim is forced by necessity to go to a secular (Western) Court, rather than a Sharia Court to obtain his rights, that is Darura. Even though a Muslim is not allowed to believe in man-made laws.
